In June, ARK: Survival Ascended brings the update to Unreal Engine 5.5, the return of Ragnarok, and a new mount with the bison – accompanied by fresh content on Astraeos and a first taste of the Lost Colony expansion.
ARK: Survival Ascended – Unreal Engine 5.5, Ragnarok, and new creature delayed until June
Studio Wildcard has introduced the upcoming content for ARK: Survival Ascended and confirmed that there will be expected delays: The Unreal Engine 5.5 upgrade, originally scheduled for May, will now be released on June 2. The release of the popular map Ragnarok Ascended has been postponed to June 18.
This month, the focus is on three central elements:
- The engine upgrade brings improved performance, shorter loading times, and an optimized game structure, allowing non-island maps to be downloaded optionally in the future.
- Ragnarok Ascended returns completely revamped, featuring new visual details and gameplay improvements.
- The game will introduce a new, free mount – the Bison, a robust creature with strong melee presence.
Additionally, new content will be released on June 2:
- Egg Incubator for more targeted dino breeding
- New building components and cosmetic items for base building
- Tropical redesign of Club ARK
- Single-player backups with save and restore functionality
Furthermore, the map Astraeos will be expanded with the new area Lemnokis. This large island features diverse biomes such as red and snowy forests, deep valleys, cave systems, and new ocean zones with resources and a special area called "The Maelstrom." In Lemnokis, players will also encounter the first duo mini-boss pair: Kalydonios & Erymanthian, two massive boars with fire and poison attacks.
With the Lost Colony Expansion Pass, early access to the first playable content of the next major expansion begins. Purchases of the pass will immediately unlock exclusive content.
