Who is the owner of ARK?

By Louis Bang Bang

Anyone who had secretly hoped that, in the event of a potential crisis at publisher Snail Games (Snail, Inc.), all problems would suddenly vanish into thin air and Studio Wildcard would soar away freely like a phoenix from the ashes, will unfortunately be disappointed.

ARK: Survival Ascended switches directly to Unreal Engine 5.8

By Louis Bang Bang

In the current Community Crunch 520, Studio Wildcard has announced a surprising technical step: On September 30, 2026, ARK: Survival Ascended will switch directly to Unreal Engine 5.8. Instead of first delivering version 5.7, as expected by many, the studio is skipping this intermediate step and raising the game directly to the latest version of Epic's engine.

The focus of this transformation is the migration to Unreal Engine 5.7 for significant performance optimization, a dense content pipeline with new DLC primary worlds, and the systematic preparation of the player base for the radical conceptual shift of the sequel.

Megaraptor – The New Shadow Hunter in ARK

By Louis Bang Bang

Starting at the end of August 2025, players of ARK: Survival Ascended on the mod map Valguero will be joined by a particularly fearsome predator: the Megaraptor. As the winner of the ninth Community Creature Vote, it enters the field not as a classic muscle-bound beast, but as a deadly hunter from the shadows – with entirely new mechanics and a playstyle that centers on stealth attacks, fear, and psychological effects.
